Using Firefox 3.5.11 on Window XP (sp3).
Is there a way to print the about:config page in FireFox or to the select the text so it could be copied and printed elsewhere?
I did find one reference that said to print the prefs.js file, but that file only has a couple of lines of general info.

Unfortunately, no, the about:config dialog is not like an ordinary web page where there are numerous ways to extract the contents.
The prefs.js file in your currently active profile folder will contain many lines of settings, which I believe are the ones you have changed from default, and the ones added by extensions:
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\profilename\prefs.js
Example:
user_pref("network.prefetch-next", false);I'm not sure how to get a complete list, if that's what you want. Many of the settings are documented here: http://kb.mozillazin...:config_entries There must be a list or lists somewhere among the Firefox program files that is truly comprehensive. Somewhere.

Thank you for your assistance.
I was looking at the wrong prefs.js file: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\profile
The prefs.js file in the location you provided has about 180 entries, a good share of which deal with my Samsung printer.
I now have a base line to return to (as necessary), if I make any more "improvements" to the about:config settings.
(I have to stop reading those "speed up your browser" magazine articles)

also for capturing the viewable area you could use a screen capture tool to copy the displayed area to have available to view later. May take a few shots to get everything you need.
